Autumn in Devonport

Mushrooms are growing all over the place...

This was just along Dooley's Hill track near Latrobe, a stone throw away from Devonport...

I still wonder what all these shrooms taste like!

Surely this one is edible!

Ivor in Town

Now that Ivor & Fam no longer lives in Devonport these outings are rare!

Sam is growing up, and soon won't need the prrram...

I hope Ivor will grow a tree at his new house soon so we can built a swing like this!

Penguin Counting

Penguin Counting at Lillico Beach...

We sit here till after dusk, and count the number of penguins that come ashore between the markers. We do this for one hour from the first sighting. Despite it being totally unseasonable we counted dozens of them! This is exactly why we are counting them as researchers want to know what is going on, and volunteers go out twice a week to check o numbers in various locations on the NW Coast.

It is pretty cool, and certainly not tempting to swim!

If you think these photos are pretty average quality,... they come out of my mobile phone and merged using an ancient version of Photoshop Elements! The phone's GPS recorded the location as well. I use a Nokia N95.

Confusing speed limits

You know what I don't get... These speed limit changes in the burbs... You drive along a quiet suburban road with good visibility and the speed limit is 50. You come to a busy little street full of people jumping out from behind parked cars, kids crossing, people parking and turning on and off, and it becomes a 60 zone. This makes no sense to me. I just drive 50 everywhere in town, stuff the excited drivers on my heels!

See the 60 sign on the LHS?

How did you guess I got caught alledgedly speeding at 63 km/hr in one of the quiet 50 zones...
