Christmas is family time

Family time for me is pussycat time... With K. at work I get plenty of quality time with Afullah

She makes me want to sleep all day too....

Yeah, go on, go back to sleep...

Xmas at the Station

The Devonport Station Xmas party was fancy dress! Come as a movie character.
Katherine was inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha, but I am not sure which part she dressed up as!

I dressed up as Stalone in Cliffhanger, and I have no pic of myself yet. This picture was taken after I borrowed Wilma Flintstone's wig!

Welcome Lance

No, this is not a dream. We have a new car!

It is not a Subaru Liberty like we wanted... but we like this Lancer Wagon. Blends in nicely with our backyard...
One thing that is nice is that it just conforms to the following government legislation:

If a vehicle has travelled less than 120,000 kms and is less than 7 years old, the trader must give a written warranty. The warranty period is 3 months or 3,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. Certain vehicles such as four wheel drive vehicles, commercial vehicles and motor cycles are not...

This means we can be assured of a great vehicle! It came from the Mitsubishi Dealers in Launceston... and thus means no unexpected costs for us hopefully. A very sensible but a tad boring choise. Katherine kicked the tyres, checked the kayak gear in the back...

And then took it to work...

Next we need to get our roof rack modified... No kayaking till we get a roof rack on there... Posted by Picasa

Car plans

Poor Pinny has blown a head gasket... At 293000 kilometers we are afraid it is time for a replacement... Anyone like to make us an (un)reasonable offer? Just needs a good gentle home...

Currently looking at this lovely Landrover... Should be econimical to run with its little 4 cylinder petrol engine... We've got it for a week to test drive! Cool! Very suauve!

Afullah for Sumo Queen

We got the new couches, but Afullah has the best view!

And as much food as she can fit in her huge belly....

The best kitty litter too....

Toilet training is just not happening. The toilet litter with hole in it is just not deemed acceptable... We are all getting a little upset with it all! Kitty litter on your toes in bed...

Holy Shit

Look, Afullah has progressed a little. We put it back on the toilet. She hates it! And K. hates it too! She wanted to quit the training and go back to the kitty litter! I want to persevere. She now tries to use it here, but has stage fright. This is a well-placed turd in the middle! Afullah has been doing it on the side, which is NOT desirable!! This is a good sign! In a week or two we will try and have the middle hole open!!

Look how tall our couch is! Maybe the foam will compress a little eventually.

New Couches!

There you go, makes the lounge look a little smaller, but we are comfortable!

And Afullah has a new scratchpad!!!
Speaking of which, the toilet training is going miserable with her. K. is ready to give up! Posted by Picasa

Step number 2

This is step number two for the cat's toilet training! A pretend toilet. It is raised, and a little step up stool to encourage her. The manual tells us to place this device on our one and only toilet in the house... but considering the huge mess Afullah makes .... no way hozee!

Oh shit....

Afullah's toilet training is not going too well. She took a week or two to even consider this thing a kitty-litter. She did not know where to poo/pee. Normally she would go outside for an hour and come home to use the kitty-litter, that is how much she liked her old kitty litter. Now.... Well, look at it. We don't like it.... and no way is this going to sit on our one and only house toilet!! She doesnt like it either. First she's got to learn to use it 'efficiently' without making a mess! This is going to be a challenge for all of us over the next few months! Merry Christmas, ho ho ho. Posted by Picasa

Sheep Dog?

Lately we have a sheep walking on the path behind our house. Mostly it is walked by a couple of people with a dog or two as well.

But yesterday we caught the sheep out alone, so we stopped them for a photo session! And no, the owners are not Tasmanian, they are lovely people origianlly from the NSW North Coast.

Sooo cuuute. Posted by Picasa

Geotagged

This picture was taken on the beach a few days ago when we were out collecting pebbles for our garden. This image has been geotagged in Picasa. Not sure if that carries across to the blog! It is a lovely spot to walk for miles and miles on a pebbly/sandy beach, and see no one. We bring sturdy bags and fill two each with pebbles for our garden. We need to do this regularly as 4 bags does not go far in landscaping! Posted by Picasa

Go Georgia

Here is Georgia Munnings strutting her stuff. Helping her out in this daring manouevre is Will. Wolfstock the musical, as performed by Georgia's school is a little outrageous, musically exciting and it's lots of fun. It is certainly different.… Posted by Picasa

Toilet Training for Afullah

Step 1 was for Afullah to use the new litter 'tray' from Litter Kwitter, and then to use it in the new location... It took a couple of days.

Afullah is onto step two now for potty training. The magic tray which replaced her litter, is now sitting on top of the toilet! It makes toileting hard for us as we only have one loo! We almost put the old kitty litter box in our bedroom for us! Posted by Picasa

Third Generation Professor van Praag!

Yes, my grandfather was Prof. Spanish at Amsterdam, his son, my uncle, is Prof. in Economics/Econometrics, and now his daughter, my cousin Mirjam, recently became Professor at the University of Amsterdam in Entrepreneurship and Organizations! I was there with mum to celebrate it. Click on the photo below to see the photo album.

I promised Mirjam that if she ever needed a hand, ever gets stuck on some theoretical or practical issues, just call me!
